A large 175 houses development application just been submitted on Brizen Farm by Newbridge Construction. A two day exhibition was held in early December 2012 at the Reddings Cricket Club, the Parish Council & LEGLAG organised an exit poll to gauge public opinion on this controversial greenbelt development; 198 people attended with 186 opposed the plans with only 7 in support.
Our concerns are firstly, this looks like phase 1 of a larger plan using one third of their land holdings, secondly this is greenbelt which was marked red (for no development) on the recent JCS greenbelt review and this development urbanises part of the Cheltenham Circular Footpath. Other important concerns raised by residents who have been in contact include concerns over the setting for the listed farmhouse, this area of the greenbelt acts as a wildlife corridor and nothing has changed since large scale development was rejected in 2009.
Please contact us if you want to discuss this development application.
